Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx)

Rear door heat exchangers offer a smart and scalable way to manage heat directly at the rack. They come in two primary types: Active and Passive.

Active rear door heat exchangers include built-in fans that assist or control airflow through the heat exchanger. These fans can dynamically adjust speed to maintain optimal cooling, even under higher thermal loads. This is what makes active RDHx's the most common and effective rear door cooling solution for AI, HPC and Enterprise

Facility Water Connected

Benefits:

  • High-Efficiency Cooling: Heat is extracted directly at the rack exhaust, preventing it from entering the white space and reducing the overall cooling burden.

  • Leverages Existing Infrastructure: Utilizes the existing chilled water loop, minimizing capital expense and deployment time.

  • Increased Rack Density: Supports HPC and dense configurations without additional floor space or major airflow redesigns.

  • Reduced Energy Use: Significantly lowers reliance on CRAC units, reducing energy consumption and improving PUE.

  • Scalable & Modular: Allows selective deployment only on high-density racks, aligning capital investment with demand.

RPU and Direct to Chip cold plates

Benefits:

  • Allows you to use Direct to Chip servers in legacy facilities by: Using the existing air cooling infrastructure

  • Lower Capex: Supports AI and HPC and configurations without additional floor space, major airflow redesigns or facility water

  • Scalable & Modular: Increase your rack density as you grow by adding more units
